Friday Fave - RWSC Edition
This year's Restaurant Week SC was one for the books. With many new participating restaurants and drool-worthy dishes, this week was one not to be missed. Unfortunately, due to the snow, I didn't get to hit as many places as I planned (R.I.P. to my Restaurant 17 reservation), but I still had a great week full of fun, food, and friends.
I was lucky enough to get to work with Restaurant Week SC and Nichole Livengood this year with a cool new project. If you didn't see it, here's the skinny: local artist decorated wooden 'g' which local influencers hid around town for a fun little scavenger hunt. The winners got to keep the 'g' and got a gift card for restaurant week. Big shoutout to Your Carolina and Fox Carolina for having me on their shows to talk about Restaurant Week.
But let's get to what you're all really here for... the FOOD.
The standout meal for me was my night at LTO Burger Bar with my mom. This place is just so casual, fun, and inviting. And they FEED you... boy do they feed you! We sat at the bar and got a bird's eye view into the kitchen which made for an entertaining meal. They offered 3 courses for $20, and really, you can't beat that. Luckily for us, there were 2 choices for each course so my mom and I ordered EVERYTHING. #NoShame. Check out our meal below!
Molasses mop sauce and smoked gouda queso???!!! Need I say more? But I will. These apps were super tasty and totally shareable - even though we had a little bit of an argument on who got the last bite of nachos. And if that wasn't filling enough...
This baby was a bit messy but oh so juicy and pimento cheesy. Do you see that pink? That's how the inside of a burger should look. The crunch of the fried pickle chips was a tasty and salty addition that really brought all that goodness together. DELICIOUS.
Like I said, my mom and I split everything. And because the burger was a bit messy, we ate that first. And that was our first mistake people... because this chicken sandwich was off the charts good. By the time we got to it, we were both pretty full so I didn't get to eat as much of my half as I wanted. But that's why leftovers are awesome, because you get to eat it all over again!
I like chocolate, don't get me wrong. But it's not the first thing I go for on a dessert menu. This is why the sharing part of this meal is key. My mom is a choco-hollic. So this shake was made for her. I had some bites, sips, and licks, and can tell you this shake was seriously rich and decadent. If you love chocolate, this baby is a dream come true. But the true star of the show, IMO, is below...
If I could marry a milkshake, this would be my forever right here. The cinnamon ice cream, pecan crumble, and that donut worked so perfectly together. I was seriously territorial over this shake and did not want to share with my mom. There may have been a bit of spoon combat over this fella.
I can't say enough about my meal at LTO Burger Bar. I needed a wheelchair to get out of there because I. WAS. SO. INCREDIBLY. FULL. It was well worth the $20, and even a steal if you ask me.
